It's not often a film festival makes the cover of Time Magazine...

Actor and director Paul Gross at TIFF Opening Night

Actors Joe Dinicol and Caroline Dhavernas at the Opening Night world premiere of
Passchendaele.

Festival co-directors Cameron Bailey and Piers Handling

The gorgeous Toronto skyline, as seen from the Islands on Lake Ontario during an afternoon break from film festival madness.

Cover of The Sun:
TIFF is elitist! Sure it's expensive ($20.50 a ticket for a regular public screening), but film festivals are costly affairs and I find this one know hows to share the love better than most.
Toronto Wraps:
- Anne Thompson has great notes on what worked - and what didn't - at TIFF this year.
- Mini reviews over at My Freakin Film Page...
- Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire wins the Audience Award, while Australian film Disgrace wins a FIPRESCI critics prize.
- Best Canadian Feature goes to Rodrigue Jean's Lost Song, a beautifully acted drama about post-natal depression which I saw in the Festival's video library. Interesting choice. Special mention goes to Atom Egoyan's superior Adoration. IndieWIRE has the full list.

Hang on, you were the judge at a PORN festival?
You have to keep an open mind...
