Hey Matt (and everyone),

Great coverage of the SFF, and great work compiling this extensive list of critics ratings throughout. I managed to catch a lot of tweets throughout the festival, with everyone's initial thoughts on the film.

I saw 20 films during the festival, and reviewed them all (well except Tree of Life) on my blog, Andy Buckle's Film Emporium (buckle22.blogspot.com)

For me Senna, A Separation, Project Nim, Tree of Life and Martha Marcy May Marlene were the top films.

I'm glad I wasn't alone in rating Sleeping Beauty, Norwegian Wood, Three and The Beaver low.

Great work everyone. I'd really appreciate feedback on my reviews. Hope to meet you all at some point in the future.

There is fine print: from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Nothing to do with SFF, just a rather clever urban planning decision by the council I imagine.

Tomboy is distributed, as I understand it, by Rialto, and will be getting a release.

I stopped in for last few days of festival and had a great time. I do like the conciseness of Sydney versus the sprawling hometown behemoth that is MIFF.

I was amazed by how smart Shut Up Little Man is, and how many great topics of conversation can spin off it - privacy, change in modes of communication, outsiders, just fabulous. No wonder it's got a good US distribution.

The shuttle buses from C Quay to the Event cinemas was a personal highlight too.

I've got to admit that I saw a whole lot of films before the festival started. Giles and I shot the first two SMH Festival Focus episodes before the event kicked off, so that certainly helped my tally!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed TOMBOY will get a theatrical release so you all can catch up with it.

Aside from that, nice one getting this together. Many of my faves are well-represented here: The Tree of Life, Meek's Cutoff, 13 Assassins, The Forgiveness of Blood. Strangely mixed feelings about A Separation: I thought it was outstanding - but not quite as good as Farhadi's previous one, About Elly, and not my first choice in the comp.
I think The Guard is underrated here - I thought it was one of the best films in the festival.
If you missed Septien and Position Among the Stars, you missed out.

Hi Jim. I agree. I did consider that, but it's hard to find a mathematical model with weighted coefficients that is likely to please everyone.

Instead, I'd rather encourage everyone to take the results with a grain of salt. This is just a rough snapshot, limited in its both scope and applications, not to be taken too seriously.
